Image gallery

Many of the photos displayed throughout the virtual tour and other sections of the St. Mary’s website are gathered together in the Images of St. Mary’s photo gallery. The gallery is composed of several albums of photos that are organized into the following collections:

Stained glass collection

The Stained Glass Collection

This collection brings the magnificent stained glass windows of the Cathedral to the web. Included in the collection are the sixteen windows whose biblical scenes graphically represent salvation history from Adam & Eve to the martyrdoms of Saints Peter and Paul.

Cathedral collection

The Cathedral Collection

There are separate albums in this collection for the Cathedral’s limestone exterior, interior decor, Stations of the Cross, the large icons lining the walls honouring fourteen saints of the Church, the crypt where several of early bishops of Kingston are interred, and the main pipe organ.

St. James chapel collection

St. James Chapel Collection

There are three albums in this collection, one for the chapel’s limestone exterior, the second for its interior design, including the distinctive stone sculptures of the first six bishops of Kingston, and the third for the stained glass windows honouring the Holy Family, Saints James Boanerges, Peter, Paul and Vincent de Paul.

Special Events collection

The Special Events Collection
