Become a Committed Adorer: Sign Up with Adoration Pro

The Re-opening of Daily Adoration from after morning Mass to 9PM Monday to Friday and shorter hours Saturday and Sunday.

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

We warmly welcome you to commit to a weekly Holy Hour in Adoration of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Beginning on October 4^th 2023, the date of our 175th anniversary, St James Chapel at St Mary’s Cathedral will be opened for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every day of the week. Your commitment to a weekly Holy Hour will bless your spiritual life and will make daily Adoration possible for all of the faithful in the city of Kingston. Be assured that you bring great joy to the Lord when you answer His call in this way.

Committed Adorers arrive to pray weekly at their scheduled time. We are adorers, but we are also guardians of the Blessed Sacrament. We accept the responsibility of maintaining a presence in front of the Lord at all times. To maintain this vital responsibility, our parish has adopted the platform ‘Adoration Pro’ to assist with scheduling and finding substitutes.

How to Use Adoration Pro to Sign Up for a Weekly Holy Hour Commitment:

Access the Parish Web site at www.stmaryscathedral.ca, open the ‘Adoration Chapel’ link at the top of the page, then click on the orange “Adoration Pro” button.

The link will open a page with two options. Select ‘Weekly Commitment’.

Select the day and hour you wish to sign up for and complete the contact information in the window that opens.

You may also sign up to be a substitute adorer. Substitutes can choose to fill in during an absence. Follow steps one and two. When the schedule page opens scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see an option to “Become a Sub”. Select this option and fill in your contact information.

You will receive a confirmation email of the hour that you signed up to pray and a separate confirmation if you signed up to be a substitute.

Daily Adoration will commence when at least two adorers are registered for each shift. Please consider signing up for a weekly time slot individually, as a family or couple, or as a service organization. Instructions for finding a Substitute

To find a substitute if you are unable to make your Holy Hour:

Access the Parish Website at www.stmaryscathedral.ca, open the ‘Adoration Chapel’ link at the top of the page, then click on the orange “Adoration Pro” button.
Select ‘Weekly Commitment’, scroll to the bottom and select ‘find a sub’ tab and click to open.
Enter the password that was sent to you (or contact livestream@stmaryscathedral.ca if you lost it)
You may choose to send an “auto sub request”. You will be prompted to enter your contact information and the time the sub is needed. Once you’ve completed the information click on the “send sub request” button.
1. A message will be sent to all registered subs in the system with your request.
2. You will receive a message confirming your request.
3. You will also receive a message confirming when someone has agreed to substitute.
4. Note that a message will be sent to the coordinator as well.
If you prefer, you may choose to “manually find a sub from the list”. A list of all subs in the system with contact information will appear and you may contact them individually.
