Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Child’s note to Mary

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a Worship time for children ages 3.5 to 9 years of age taking place during the 10:30am Sunday Mass in St. James’ Chapel. 
 
Children are received by Father Shawn or Deacon Blaine and sent with a blessing to listen to scripture readings, the Gospel, the Creed, to proclaim the faith, ask questions, and pray for their needs and the needs of the world.

Leaders and Assistants will also guide and focus children through the month’s of church dedications with activities and prayers:
 
January – The Holy Name of Jesus
February – The Holy Family
March – St. Joseph
April – The Blessed Sacrament
May – The Blessed Virgin Mary
June – The Sacred Heart of Jesus
July – The Precious Blood
August – The Immaculate Heart of Mary
September – The Seven Sorrows of Mary
October – The Holy Rosary
November – The Holy Souls in Purgatory
December – The Immaculate Conception
 
Children will return to their parents/grandparents/guardians at the beginning of the Offertory Procession after the Prayers of the Faithful.
